Veterinarian
Dr. David Wendt took a decidedly adventurous route to veterinary medicine. Raised as a cowboy, he attended South Dakota State University for his undergraduate studies before heading north to Alaska, where he worked on oil drilling rigs. Eventually, his love of animals led him to Washington State University for veterinary school. After graduating in 1998, Dr. Wendt began practicing veterinary medicine that same year.
Those early cowboy roots have never left him. When he’s not caring for patients at Sultan Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Wendt enjoys training dogs and spending time with his horses—a hobby he readily admits gives him plenty of opportunities to spend money. He also enjoys riding ATVs and has a long history of seeking adventure wherever he can find it.
A former pilot and self-described ski bum, Dr. Wendt once took his love of the slopes to the next level with heli-skiing in the backcountry. While his adventures these days may look a little different, he still brings that same energy, curiosity, and down-to-earth spirit to his life and work.
